A/N: I haven't had any inspiration lately and I had to do an assignment for my dance/drama class and this is what came of it.
Story Notes: This is more of a monologue than an actual poem but I like the format better so...
This is based on the song "There's No 'I' In Team" by Taking Back Sunday (best band ever!) off their album Tell All Your Friends
Was I your mistake?
Was it me that made you go?
You used to be my best friend.
Now you’re out there putting on this façade,
acting like something you’re not.
You can fool everyone but you can’t fool me.
I know you too well for that, sweetie.
You want to act like you’re so high and mighty.
You know, you’d be nothing without me just like I would be nothing without you.
I realize now that you’re nothing but a fraud,
and I’m kind of getting sick of thinking about you,
but you know,
you’ve made me what I am,
I mean,
you’ve practically taught me everything I know.
If it wasn’t for you,
I wouldn’t know what the true meaning of a broken heart is.
I wonder if I ever did thank you for that.
So, what’s the point in this?
If you want to say goodbye,
just say goodbye.
Even though once you’re gone I’ll still miss you,
I’d rather have you go far away than stay with me,
because you know, sweetie,
I really do hate fakes.
