Four days was all we had

Four days to prove ourselves

In four days we packed our bags

And went back home to the real world

Up there it was

Like we were the only ones who existed

We would have been best friends if it wasn’t only a visit

We had weeks and weeks to acknowledge you

But if we had…we wouldn’t have had those

Four days of getting to know you

Four days of shunning you

Four days of endless laughter at

Silly stuff and Forrest Gump

Impersonations

If it wasn’t for those four days…

We wouldn’t be best friends.

After we went our separate ways

It was weird

It felt like a friend we’d had for years

Had gone and moved away.

When we were home

Most of our “remember when’s” included your name

Most of our laughter came at something you had done

We wished we could have gone back and relived those

Four days of getting to know you

Four days of shunning you

Four days of endless laughter at

Silly stuff and Forrest Gump

Impersonations

If it wasn’t for those four days

We wouldn’t be best friends

Now

It’s been almost a year

And we still do talk a lot

Now

That we’re no longer near

We miss you a lot

Now

We kind of wonder if

You miss us as much as we miss

You
