A/N: More stuff for the poetry unit. I know I’m not a poet, but I tried not to get too complicated here, and I think this one sort of works, although it toes the line between good and cliché. At any rate: feedback please!

Anger

What do you fear?
What is there so terrifying about
letting yourself go?
You flatter yourself, I think:
your anger is no tsunami,
no volcano spewing molten rock,
no unstoppable force of nature.
You claim to be wild, ferocious,
you claim to be unstoppable.
You call yourself a martyr,
say you’re saving us all
from that pure, unbridled
decimating force
of your rage.
But I know
that you’re keeping it inside
because you’re afraid to open up.
