Theme #2—Missed

Doaan stared dully at the ground, noticing, but not really listening to, the two girls arguing behind him.

Part of the canyon had collapsed due to one of Xoz’s explosives, separating him, Uina, and Haela from the rest of the group.

He wasn’t sure what the two were arguing about, but as far as he was concerned, it didn’t involve him.

“So, what do you think we should do?” Uina asked him, slamming her hammer on the ground dangerously close to his right foot. Doaan shifted and stood up. He spun his spear in his hand a bit before stopping it so it pointed forwards, down the canyon in the same direction they had been headed previously.

Uina scoffed. “You think it goes all the way through?”

Doaan only shrugged before walking away, barely caring if the other two caught up to him.

They did eventually (unfortunately). It was only silent for about five minutes until Haela said something that pissed Uina off, and back to arguing they went. This time they kept walking, however. Whether they knew Doaan wouldn’t stop, or they just wanted to annoy him, he wasn’t sure.

He really wanted to tell them to shut up, but he knew he couldn’t. His tongue would betray him and refuse to move.

It was times like these that Doaan really missed Irra.

Luckily, after a half-hour or so, Doaan, Uina, and Haela met back up with the rest of the group.
