Ludicrous

It was delirious to think I could’ve been...

Ludicrous; I tell myself

An existence in an unrealistic reality

Deception; I told myself

Malformed voices seeking an owner

Whispers of disbelief obstruct whatever dream I request

Whatever glow I’d accept as hope

As distorted ripples of what couldn’t be

I caused it to build up inside

To gather, impair and corrode

To lacerate the final sliver of decayed ambition

Eviscerate any meaningless empathy or consonance

Fictitious laughter disfigured my buried euphoria
