Alone Against You

Lorna Dwyer July 2007

Forced to face you.

Forced to decide.

Without time to think,

Without time to breathe.

How can I decide?

Why do you expect this?

Can’t you see I’m breaking?

Can’t you see

How hard I’m trying?

Waking up each day,

I feel the dread.

Each day,

Brings you closer.

Each day I’m forced

Closer to you.

Closer to deciding.

How should I act?

It isn’t the same,

Not anymore.

I have no one left,

No one to see me through.

I’m forced towards you,

Forced to decide.

Only this time…

I’m alone.
