Once there grew cherries that bloomed in the snow,

As a child I wondered just how did they grow.

The glittering frost of blue and white,

Made these plump cherries ripe and bright.

My feet treaded and crunched through the fair,

My curious mind could not help but stare.

I grinned and plucked one from it’s stem,

Observed it closely as if it were a gem.

Licked it first then took a bite,

That’s when I wondered who turned out the light?

“Poison” I heard from the voice of my mom,

She was arguing with my step dad tom.

I patted the floor and sat down,

Let out a sigh and wore on my face a frown.

No longer could I see,

That small frosted tree.

That beckoned then took the sight of me.
