At least once every day I sit in my computer room. I bounce in my chair as I shake my head to my music. I catch up with friends in other cities, in other states, in other countries. By a click of a button I can find out what the weather is like in Taiwan or what the new gossip is in my hometown. Homework can be done faster, and there can be more time for fun. At least once every day I sit in my computer room.
I can hear my brother playing his Wii in the living room with my mom. Their laughs are annoying me. I can't hear my music.
My mom is telling me to feed my baby sister and do my chores. I ignore her. I want to talk with my friends more. Gossip is more important that chores.
My dad comes home early today. I don't want to talk about how my day went. Does he not see that I'm checking Facebook?
At least once every day I sit in my computer room, but when I come out for dinner, I have nothing to say. Dad talks about work and plays with baby Abigail. Drew and Mom are recapping the funniest moments in their Wii Tennis tournament. I look at my plate and push my food around.
"Samantha, anything happen to you today?"
I replayed my day in my head. At least some of the time I poured over my computer had to have some affect on something in my life.
I shook my head 'No', "May I be excused?"
With their permission I went back into the computer room and logged in. Maybe I am missing a connection with my family, and maybe I should try to have bonding experience with them. As the first IM pops up I understand what's going on. My drugs aren't the kind with capsules and powdery substances. My drugs are so addicting that I just can’t stop. I’ve been pulled in way to deep. Save yourself; I’m too plugged in.
Yup- that's about it. Haha- I spend way to much time on the computer.
