We are all alone

We are all alone

Even when we’re together

We’re solid as a stone

So we can survive stormy weather

Sometimes there will be a person

Someone special, someone unique

And when dark times worsen

It’s they’re company you’ll seek

You’ll let them into your heart

Not because they ask you to

But because otherwise you’ll fall apart

And one is more hopeless than two

When people feel lonely

You can’t predict how they feel

That’s why you can only

Try to break they’re walls of steel

We can all be strange

Or just completely ordinary

We might need a change

Or just the contrary

We can feel forsaken

Or caught in obligation

We can be mistaken

Or in need of salvation

We can be cryptic like a letter

Or floating like a feather

But it’s always better

To be alone together
