: Deeper Still :

I am the river worn shallow
Though now it seems so deep
I know it will grow deeper still
I am the careful carving
Of another shore upon this earth

I am what happens when wind
Wanders, as it will
I am the song of the rain
Or at least i know
Every note it sings

I am the eye of a hurricane
I am a flame

I lay long weeks to rest and
Mark their graves with lilies
I know many things,
But i have yet to learn
What lilies mean

My skin is untrampled snow
My lips the colour of winter berries,
Of wine
My eyes are young
Everything about me is young

I am the way the tall grass bends
I sway the same
But my name will be a tower

I believe people should dance more
I can feel these streets-
They want messy puddles
They crave the kisses of
Worn shoes

I have music in my mouth
And the moon in my belly
And if no one else will dance
Then i will

I am the end of seventeen years

I am waiting to be worn
Deeper still
