I said I wouldn’t

I promised

I swore.

But the look in your eyes

And the feel of your skin

Made me forget my promises.

I promised to be good

And to save myself.

But the truth in your stare

And the love in your gaze,

Made me lose my solemn promises.

I told myself

I shouldn't love.

I wouldn’t be hurt,

I couldn't be destroyed again.

But the warmth of your touch

Made me rethink my promise,

Made me revoke my words.

And here I am,

Slowly, carefully,

Climbing this mountain with you

Overcoming this obstacle

With you at my side.

And with you at my side,

My new love,

My true love

I can do anything.
