What more could I ask for?
Bluebells and violet,
caked in snow –
but if you look closer,
you know it’s really just mistrust.
And there’s a little boy
drumming on a drum
and strumming on a guitar.
The people march,
one by one,
and we all sing
oh, what have we done?
Because an easy way out
is with a bullet to the head,
but if you want to be real
you should really try to breathe.
So give the skeleton a piano
just so we can dance to his sorrowful tunes.
Play a couple notes
and you know this is where you belong.
If you want,
we can skip down to hell
together.
If you want,
we could dance with god in heaven
if we believed.
Here’s one to take up with the judges,
is it better to die or to live?
Or do we really get a choice?
I mean, in the end,
we’re just trapped in a puzzle box.
See, in the words of panic,
things have changed and (I think)
that’s okay.
Do you think I get bonus points
if I’m ugly and I find love in the end?
Because there’s a boy (or is he a man?) –
and oh, can I pretend to
be in love?
It’s like kindergarten
all over again with the plastic rings
and candy hearts.
After the rainbows
there are always more clouds.
Maybe if I wrote my heart down
on a post-it note and
threw it away to the sea
all the love would disappear.
Is it too much to ask for
if I ask for a lucky horoscope?
Is it too much to ask for
if I ask for you?
When the sun makes love to the moon,
do we see fireworks in the skies?
Just hanging around,
sipping coffee at the end of the world
and she (me?) falls in love.
