This is my first real attempt at a manga plot. I tried once before, but I didn’t get the same energy as this one. This one, I know I’ll be able to finish. I have no idea how to set this up, so it’ll be in a standard story form, but I might put in a character bio segment in the next author’s note. Please regard me kindly.

She was just a stranger when I first met her.

Hey you…what are you looking at?”

“Huh? Who, me?” a man asked pointing to himself as shadows drifted over his face and the train rocked on the track. The girl narrowed her gaze.

“Yes, you. Why do you keep staring at me? Don’t you know it’s rude?” she snapped as her hand tightened on the metal pole in her hand. In her other hand was a school bag. She wore a school uniform with a plaid skirt and a navy blue blazer. Her hair was black and layered, reaching about halfway down her neck, and her brown eyes were clear and surprisingly sharp. She couldn’t have been more than fifteen.

“Quit staring at me!” she screamed and he jumped slightly in his seat just two feet from the girl. People were staring at her, but she didn’t seem to take notice. All she was focused on was the man sitting in the third seat from her pole. She glared. “Well?”

“I wasn’t staring at you!” he screamed.

“Yes, you were!” she shouted while pointing at the man before her. He was tall, taller than her. She could see it just by looking at him. He was probably nineteen, dressed the way he was in a pair of faded jeans and a tan-colored jacket. His hair was light brown with highlights and his eyes were light brown as well. And just as she was about to yell at him again, a voice interrupted her.

“Excuse me, but can you keep your voice down? You’re disturbing other people.”

The girl turned, snapping her gaze to the person sitting next to the light-haired man with her mouth ready to point her anger at the intruder when she found her voice caught in her throat. He was probably a year or two older than the person he sat next to. He was dressed in a tight-fitting black T-shirt and a pair of jeans. His hair was black and layered and he looked like he had just rolled out of bed after having sex, but the first thing she noticed about him were his dark piercing eyes.

“You…you’re the one who’s been staring at me…”

The man slowly smiled. “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”

The girl gasped, clearly not expecting his arrogant response, but before she could retort, the train jerked forward. Suddenly, she was sent flying forward, landing with a tangle of limbs.

“Ugh…what happened?” she asked quietly when she noticed the softness beneath her fingertips. Looking up, she found herself face to face with the light-haired boy from earlier. So he broke her fall?

“Nice of you to drop in.”

At this, she turned behind her to see the black-haired man, a smile on his face. She glared at him and kicked her leg up, watching him dodge as her shoe collided with the metal wall of the train. He smirked. “That almost hit me.”

“Next time, I won’t miss,” she said getting off their laps and dusting off her uniform as the speaker announced the approaching stop.

“I’ll be waiting for that. Until then, don’t you have something to say to the man sitting beside me?”

Suddenly, she turned to him. He blinked owlishly. “I’m not apologizing,” she stated coolly before turning to the dark-haired man. “What?” she snapped.

“Nice panties,” he said with a smirk. She glared.

“Pervert,” she muttered under her breath. At the new title, the man chuckled to himself, but she did not hear it as she stepped off the train. A few seconds later, the train began rumbling as it started its departure and the light-haired man turned to the window by his shoulder, watching as the girl walked away from the platform before the train began moving and she disappeared from view.
