Her Frugal Fingers
Midas turned all he touched to gold;
She transforms all she meets to silver,
To serene sea-deep silver
That first swam in the waves
Of the perpetual Night sky.
Yet a single flicker of lamp-light
Casts demon-shadows on her display,
Causes interferences with her dimensions,
Too many wires crossing, inter-linking,
Sparks will be born to kill.
But my glow-stars are exasperated
With my quiet, humble musings-
My odes to the moon and muttered compliments
Caressing her incadescent, bubbling aura
Ignited by the sole Sun of her heart.
Kings die, stars perish
But the moon; she will live on
Despite my bed-side beacon
That scrapes away at her soul.
NOT THE POEM : does anybody please know how to separate the verses other than with those lines? i've tried the shift+enter thing but it never works..do you have to do something else too? i'd be eternally grateful if someone would let me know.
