I can see the hurtful reserve in your eyes

It lets me know I’m being compared to all your past guys

The ones who took a think as special as love and turned it into a game of lust and then

they’d use your sweet nature against you because all you wanted to do was trust them

And every time you tried to make love work, they used you

It’s sad how men can be such jerks and abuse you

I choose to step around that beaten path

And show that, with me, there’s a sweeter aftermath

Speaking of math, you plus me could equal one great companionship

Given the chance, I’d love to join you in a beautiful relationship

Your eyes are dancing now—do I have your attention?

These words that I speak aren’t just words, they’re an extension

What can I say, in what manner, what way, to make you believe in me?

To let you know that by giving me trust, my love is the consequence?

Being as how the weight of my entire gender seemingly rests on my shoulders
