:3 Hiya, it's Helenn.

Felt like trying to write my own stories instead of just fanfiction.

For now, it's called Underneath and Between.

Enjoy

Chapter 1: Fear

A brief knock echoed for a mere second but the sharp anger carried through the wooden door. “Eliza, open up!” a gruff male voice commanded.

Untangling herself from the safety of her bed sheets, Eliza dashed off her bed in her night gown. Though her jet-black hair was mussed from sleep and her clothing was rumpled, there was no mistaking her keen awareness in her deep green eyes. The thirteen-year-old girl tripped noisily over a chair in her hurry towards the door which only seemed to infuriate the knocker further.

“Eliza, hurry up, you worthless freak!” the man shouted, punching the door none too gently. The sound of splintering wood barely traveled through and into the small room Eliza lived in, but it was enough to make her cringe with fear. Standing up shakily, she tentatively unlocked the door and throw up her arms in self-defense.

Though she was shrinking back behind her arms, the hard blow still sent her sprawling backwards. The numb pain in her arm told her of a bruise to wear for tomorrow. “Eliza!” the man, also called her father, roared, “What were you doing with the door locked? You had me worried! Made me think you’d run away!”

With those words, her father burst into angry tears, letting out loud wails that smelled of alcohol. Trembling with terror, Eliza tried to slink away, but was held fast by her father’s unforgiving grip. “Where do you think you’re going?!” he shouted, spittle spraying in her wide, scared expression, “You think I’d let you go after you mother did?? Huh?? Answer me!!”

Forcing her eyes to stay open, Eliza weakly responded with, “Yes, Daddy. I mean, no, Daddy, I’d never go, Daddy, please put me down.”

Satisfied with her answer, he dropped her down onto the ground and departed after delivering a swift kick into her back so “she could remember who was in charge.”

Tingling from the fast-pumped adrenaline and stinging pain, Eliza lay there on the ground, still too petrified to get up again. Though she ached from the hits, she actually had gotten off lucky this time. But that wasn’t what she was thinking about as she twitched on her wooden flooring. No, she was thinking about her words.

No, I’d never go.

Perhaps it was time to make that old, truthful line a thing of the past.

o.o Opinionnnns...?

A lot of this stuff is definitely subject to change so at the beginning of each net chapter will be something like, "Heyyy, you have to re-read the earlier chapters insert numbers so this one makes sense..."

lol, as always, reviews are loved, flames are taken into thought, praise is pure love, and random stuff is just awesome.

Mistakes are to be reported!

Thanks for readinnngggg
