It's Not The Same
My fake brother's tall and wiry,
And while I know he loves me,
His hugs just aren't the same.
My real brothers warm yet detached,
Not an easy match,
Their hugs just aren't the same.
My girls give a quick squeeze,
Then talk with ease,
Their hugs just aren't the same.
My boys an awkward pat on the back,
I love them but it sort of lacks,
Their hugs just aren't the same.
My ex got close,
It wasn't that bad, I suppose.
His hugs just weren't the same.
But with your solidness,
My head resting on your chest,
You're always so warm,
I'm melting into your form,
I can't let go,
I hope you know,
I love this.
Better than any time I reminisce,
It's that feeling I get when I'm with you,
Like you always know what to do.
The fact that we're both disasters,
Couldn't slip my mind faster.
I hate that it's true,
It's not the same if it's not you.
Don't hate me? It's not the same, if any one else hugs me. David was really close, but it wasn't the same...
