“Mommy, Mommy can we open my gifts now,” D’Angelo said as he ran up to us. Then he gasped, “Mommy why you cryin?”
“Oh nothin, daddy just makes very happy,” I said smiling at Dre.
“Oh, well are we gonna be a family again?” he said.
“Yes we are,” Dre said smiling at me.
“Yaaaay, dis da best birfday eva,” he squealed.
“Yea, it is baby,” I said smiling.
“Can we open gifts now,” he said smiling an innocent smile.
“How bout cake first?”
“Ok,” he said as he ran ahead of me to the table, “C’mon, everyone lets go have some cake,” I yelled to all the kids who were still runnin around actin like Baybay’s kids.
“Yaaaay,” they all yelled in unison. As they ran over to the table I grabbed a small birthday hat for Angel, four candles for the cake, and a lighter.
Once I got back to the table I put the hat on Angel’s head and stuck the candles on the cake. Then I felt arms wrap around my waist and I looked up and saw Dre smiling his beautiful million dollar smile. “Let me light the candles,” he said sweetly.
He knocked the breath out of me and all I could manage to say was a measly, “Ok.”
He laughed as I handed him the lighter. After he lit the candles I said, “Ok let’s sing Happy Birthday now.”
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEAR D’ANGELO. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU,” we all sang in unison.
Angel was smiling so big I thought his face was gonna crack. “Ok make a wish and blow out your candles,” I said softly.
He closed his eyes tight and then blew out the candles. Everyone cheered, as we started to cut the cake into enough pieces for everyone. After everyone was done parents started to come and get there kids. Once everyone was gone I crashed on the couch. I was extremely tired if I do say so myself.
