Title: The Dancer

Author: salvagedstars

Summary: She spins around the stage, her arms an outstretched branch; her hair adorned with rays of light; her air filled with sparkles of gold. A poem about life, and its likeness to a dance.

A/N: This is the first poem I've decided to post here on FictionPress. I'm not sure if it's anygood, but I do hope you can find the time to comment and offer suggestions.

She spins around the stage,
her arms an outstretched branch;
her hair adorned with rays of light;
her air filled with sparkles of gold.

The audience gasps in awe--
she smiles with delight;
for what joy to be loved
By a faceless audience

Months of practice,
critics and commentators;
Her smile today was most radiant,
without those who degrade her.

Filled with such joy,
to twirl and glide
In a moment's spotlight,
In a moment's praise.

The Final Jump--
she has practiced this before.
She closes her eyes
as she springs up...

And she succeeds
though she trips slightly;
she lands gracefully,
in a breathtaking split.

Circling through the path of life,
she ends with a bow and leaves.
A new dancer enters;
a new dance begins.

fin.

A/N: Review, please. :)
