violence, it would seem, is rooted deep

and so we've come to call it shooting our load

no tolerance for non-profit peace

your white flag goes against the code

information has become survival

so how is it we haven't learned a thing?

haven't we always divided by

the amount of green and the color of skin?

no evolution in generations

dragging knuckles behind bullet proof doors

our only revolutions are the ones they gave us

so cliche, but we need to do more

our heads buried deep in dunes of fear

because you can't do much except go to church

we gave them what they need to keep the peace

hence the loudest voice is always silenced first

our shepherds all with their crooked teeth

allowing wolves in the night to earn their keep

a lie in every hungry breath they breathe

watch over us all as we all pretend to sleep
