Darkness is all I see

And is all that sees me

I fear it

I cherish it

It is all that surrounds me

And all that is me

It is here

And it is far away

It fills my empty heart

And tempts my fading soul

It’s the only thing I have

My only companion

Darkness is all that is there

And yet I see a light

Somewhere in the dark

It calls to me

And I crave for it

To bade in its warmth

To feel more than this void

But the closer I get

The further it seems

And as I try to reach out

I find I’m to far away

So I stay in this darkness

For it craves for me

To corrupt my soul

To feed on my feelings

And the further I get

The closer it seems

And as it reaches out

I’m right in its reach

And it pulls me in

Deeper and deeper

And I can’t find a way out

I can’t escape it

It drowns my heart

And washes away my soul

And all that is left of me

Is a dark gaping hole

A void that can’t be filled

And I stop feeling

I don’t realize

I am gone

For all that is left

Is darkness itself
