Gazing up into the dark sky
Searching for the moons eyes asking why
Hoping that maybe some day soon that my heart won’t sing this empty tune

So why can’t you come back to me
You’re all that I need
I’m so lost without you
More than you’ll ever know
I’m so mad, that you're gone-my life’s fallen apart
And you can’t be around
To help me put it back together

Crying myself to sleep every night
Trying to find the light with all my might
Hoping that I can make through the day, without thinking about yesterday

I’m falling inevitably
Did you really have to leave me?
I know you didn’t plan it
Neither did the guy at the wheel,
I also know, that you’re in heaven, singing and playing with the angels
But I wish I could be with, you more than I can ever tell

Gazing up into the dark sky
Searching for the moons eyes asking why
Hoping that maybe some day soon that my heart won’t sing this empty tune

But it seems that these stars aren’t listening- they are shining on there own
While I’m here all alone
leading light, why won’t you lead me?
It’s a sad time but I won’t run away

And I’m so glad I met you
Cause I never knew
That I could be happy to just be alive
I know that today may be the best one in a long time-
and to spend it with you
But still nothing can replace that emptiness in my heart.
