Autumn leaves

They prance and twirl in an array of colours

Floating high above the ground.

They are ballet dancers

Leaping and gliding in mid air

Showing off a practiced routine.

Gusts of wind sweep through the trees and

They let go of these autumn leaves

Suddenly they become alive,

Scratching and scraping the concrete

Leaving trails of wondrous colours –

Red, yellow, brown and green.
