All of my soulmates overdosed on their thoughts of suicide
Most of them succeeded, unaware of what they'd leave behind.
As we stand here on the dents they left in our pondering minds
My aching joints make a perfect match to my blinded eyes.
Watch them as they project into the trees and planetary bodies
You can find them in liquids or solids and even strange patterns.
Receive their messages, accept their gifts, embrace their presence
They are my soulmates, they are my mind, wherever I look, I will find.
What a terrible thing they did, what a terrible, unbearable thing
We must feel the pain they should have felt for themselves.
Glue the shattered pieces they left for us to find, with a few clues
I'm looking so hard, but I swear I can only see two - just me and you.
If you think you are complete now, then broken you shall mend
If you think there is more to us, my thoughts you have just read.
But for now we must pay for their mistakes and cry their tears
And bleed through their scars, I fear, for many, many years.
I sent a smile your way, have you caught it, or let the wind carry it?
You weren't on my mind; you were in it, what a sweet little visit.
