Where I Belong

A/N A short poem of one finding comfortin another. Came to me a few days ago and just managed to get the wording right... dedicated to my best friend Lisa better known as Jack O'Neill Jr

The darkness is surrounding;

Engulfing;

Suffocating my freedom.

xxx

I stumble through shadows;

Hazes:

Misty streets of nothing.

xxx

Searching for a purchase;

An embrace;

A hand to help me.

xxx

Seeking comfort in the dark;

The doom;

The desperation that clutches me.

xxx

And then you call;

You sing;

You cry out my name

xxx

And I see your face;

Your beauty;

Your light shining on me.

xxx

“I’m falling!” I cry;

I beg;

I plead and you reach out.

xxx

“I’ve got you.” You breathe;

You smile

And sigh again.

xxx

And the world is turning;

Spinning;

Moving on to its future.

xxx

And I am finally safe;

I’m home;

I’m where I belong… with you.
