Childish

Childish

9:55 am- 10:01 am 1-18-08

Childish.

You’ve called me that before.

Do you remember?

Laying on your bed.

My face nestled in your hands.

It was loving then.

I could be myself.

I didn’t have to pretend.

You were childish, too.

Do you remember?

The giggles and laughter.

But, alas,

No more happy ever after.

You’ve used that word against me.

Do you remember?

It hurt.

You couldn’t understand.

Didn’t even try.

Now you have me asking why?

That word has broken me.

But don’t worry,

I’ll change.

I’ll put away my childish things.

I’ll be the woman that I pretended to be.

Congratulations, Chad.

You’ve killed a part of me.
