Tainted Air
Author:
Aimer Le Bleu PM
I may be alive, able to eat, but without that to eat. Walk, but barely able to walk. Breathe - but must it be the ashes of men like me?

This breath is my last

And be it so I wish

Let the smoke of a thousand people

Linger above me no more.

Release me from my sins

This crime of solitude

This crime of dreams

This crime of hope.

Forsaken place on where I stand

Where people walk and run and eat

Where people torture and shoot and kill

Where deeds of hell are as normal as

Breathing in this deadly air.

God of heaven, Merciful saviour

Grant me this final plea

Listen as I pray

Allow me a single miracle

Let this breath be my last.
