Allow me a door so I may enter

This haven where love is free and unfettered and true.

Allow me eyes so that I may see

That the door exists more than in just my dreams.

Allow me feet so I may move

To the path of my salvation.

Allow me a hand so I may knock

And make my presence known.

Allow me an ear so I may hear

The silent voice engaging me inside.

Allow me lips so I may cry

“I am here!”

Allow me a mind so that I may know

That my saviour is truly behind that door.

Allow me a knob so I may turn

My life around and believe.

But the knob does not move,

And the door does not open.

Dear God, where have I put my key?
