Marlon Brando Dreams

A happy lie

X

What I think is positive is negative, nothing is what it seems.

I'm walking through a hall of mighty deeds,

And I'm having Marlon Brando dreams.

X

As we walk, a hall of accomplishment, or so he deems,

All the different starring titles, so many credited leads,

What I think is positive is negative, nothing is what it seems.

X

Un-tortured unlike his roles, he is easy going; his smile gleams,

Rest, relax, we chat, and he reflects on all of his creeds,

And I'm having Marlon Brando dreams.

X

We come to the deck, and sit, basking in the sun beams,

Happiness like a filter, a lie from which no sadness bleeds,

What I think is positive is negative, nothing is what it seems.

X

We look over scripts, in which Brando has in reams,

He takes an unhappy line from a script, and aloud he reads;

And I'm having Marlon Brando dreams.

X

Now Brando must cover his ears to drown out my screams,

I realize why I created this lie, to cover my insecurity, to suit my needs,

What I think is positive is negative, nothing is what it seems.

And I'm having Marlon Brando dreams!
