AN hey this is only really a preview of the story its very complicated in my head right now so I am trying to sort it out. Please read and review
Fifteen were invited
Only seven were chosen
One was allowed to stay
These chosen will be our salvation or our destruction
Their choices determined by their will
No one knows it but they are our only hope
I started this job for him. “Roku look behind you!” screamed Nana. I turn my head slightly and see the cause, and hit to the ground. I move my arms to fire, hitting my target without a doubt.
The alarm begins to sound, meaning we have finally been found out. “Nana take this, I’m not going to waste this mission” I say while I throw her a small opaque disk.
“You guys, we HAVE to get out of here right now. They are increasing security. I can’t keep them back that much longer” said Krysta.
I hurry to where Nana stands and block her from the enemies gathering around her. “No we have to stay here and complete the mission. You go and get our escape ready. We will be fine here, I’ll make sure Nana gets the virus in”.
“We have to all get out of here now!” screamed Krysta.
“I told you to leave now, we can handle this on our own but if you don’t get our escape ready, we will be dead!” I said close to screaming. “Now go get San and we WILL be there soon, and if we aren’t there in 5 minutes leave ASAP”
I am still doing this for him but…I shoot an incoming guard; however find that I am out of bullets. “Shit” The guard grinned his intentions obvious as he drew closer.
“I am going to have fun tonight, two girls in my bed now that’s heavan” he said thinking he has won. I smirk at that thought.
“Well I am afraid I am going to have to cancel our meeting.” I say as I throw my two favorite black daggers with red and gold markings on the handle at his shoulders, pinning him to the wall behind him.
“Roku I'm done lets go,” said Nana
“Got it”
I take my daggers out of the unconscious guard and try to escape the mob of soldiers chasing after us. I run through the hallway with walls so white that they remind me of an insane asylum. I look behind me to see that even more soldiers are coming out of their private rooms to try and capture the intruders Nana reaches the window first and grabs on the rope that is connected to our jet.
I pull myself up without looking back, and feel a wrenching pain as I climb the rope but I ignore it as I’m reminded of what’s at stake. I reach the end of the rope and pull myself to the safety of our jet. …I am not only doing this for him anymore.
I slowly breathe in as I think of the rush. The pain of my wound becomes overbearing and I can no longer ignore it anymore. I have met other people that give me a reason to fight. “Mission complete” I say heavily. The last thing I hear is my teammates wondering when I got shot.
“Will you take this as a token of my gratitude.” Presented was an amazing gold ring with a diamond with the width of a dime and a ruby red outline. Detailed into the center of the ring was the engraving Believe in Fate.
I look at his face and can tell by his deep stormy eyes that he wishes for a response, hoping that he had chosen a good quality ring. “Its beautiful thank you” I replied.
“Now before you accept this there is something I wish to tell you,” he said with a nervous tone.
“Go on you know you can’t tell me anything”
He clears his thought before he begins “I have always admired my father, he was always strong by being in the military. Now I know I should have gone over this with you but…” he was never allowed to finish his sentence.
“I can’t believe this…you said that you would never leave me and you do this without me even knowing…I know you may have been afraid of how I would have reacted but you didn’t even consult me before.”
“Please listen to me I leave in two weeks and…and I was hoping that this ring could be our future” he said in a hopeful tone. He took her hands and raised them to his lips and said, “Will you please be my wife?”
I backed away speechless. “Are you sure? We are so young. What if it doesn’t work out once you return,” I finally stuttered out.
He only went to one knee and said, “Roku will you please be my wife.”
She paused for a moment as she realized his error. “Roku?...” Blood splatters everywhere. Everything begins to become hazy and soon his face cheery face is can no longer be distinguished
Flashes of past events begin to assault her. “Look what you did these poor innocent people are dead and it’s all your fault. Soldiers line up from all different color, from all different sizes. Do you think he's going to want you any more” the voice repeats itself over and over. I’m awoken from my nightmare by someone pushing me one the shoulder.
“Ori wake up, you are having the nightmares again. Come on, Ori please wake up,” said a more pleasant voice. I open my eyes to see the team doctor nursing my wounds. I relax at the sight of her familiar caring face.
“Morning Tig” I say using my given nickname for her.
“Okay you are all set” she says gathering her things together. She moves to leave and right before she enters the doorway stops without looking back says with a soft, gentle tone, “Was it bad this time?”
“I’ve had worse.”
She smiles at that and leaves to check on the others. “Oh wait” I say. She stops and then turns around with a questioning glance. “How long have I been out and how bad was the wound?”
“I won’t tell you those questions because then you will just overwork yourself. So you will take the pill next to you to help you get a dreamless sleep. Now rest” she finishes and leaves before I can reply.
I grab the red round pill and grasp the glass of water and gulp it down. I close my eyes with a hope that it will bring me a dreamless sleep.
Beep. I open my eyes straight away when I hear the low-key sound. Beeep the sound comes again. I turn head over to the left wondering where the insistent sound is coming from. I find the culprit as I look at my computer and see the bright green light flashing. I look at my window to see if it will reveal the approximate time of day, and reveal that the sky I hidden behind the blinds. Tiga’s words echo in my head and I decide this once I will fulfill her wishes and just sleep. I turn my head back over expecting to fall straight back asleep.
“Ro” says a soft voice.
I try to ignore it hoping that he will go away (even though that is highly unlikely).
“Ro” says the voice again but in a sing-song way. After I don’t reply he starts to slightly tap my door. “Roku wake up a new mission report came in.”
I put my second pillow over my head hoping to block out the sound.
“Come on Roku I know that your up, I have been on enough missions with you to know that you wake up to the slightest sound” he says one last time knowing he has won this battle.
I sign in despair and roughly take off the comforter off myself before I change my mind and get out of bed. I look at my reliable clock and it reads 2:30. I can’t believe they sent us a mission at 2:30. “You can come in a second Dami” I say resisting a yawn.
“Okay” he replied in an unusual hyper tone for this early in the morning.
I open the blinds to allow the moonlight to be my source of light. I move myself and look in the mirror to see my blood-stained shirt from my most recent wound and decide to change into my normal clothes, since it didn’t seem like I was going to go back to bed in a long time. I go to where my clock sits and open one of the drawers that hold my clothes. I decide on a light red spaghetti strap tank top, and a faded pair of jeans that flare out at the bottom which helps me hides extra weapons. I look over at my mess of light chestnut hair that flows down to my knees and decide to grab a brush to get out the tangles.
“Come in” I say while I head over to snatch my brush and try to untangle my hair as much as possible before he enters my domain.
He opens the door as quiet as possible as to not wake up the others before they need to. He turns the light switch up and I grimace at the blinding light.
“Ya know you really should use light sometimes instead of staying in the dark” Dami says
“I had the moon light” I reply back. I peer through the window from where I stand and see the fullness of the moon. “And look it’s even a full moon tonight.”
“Alright sure whatever, I’m guessing from your computer you have yet to read the new mission” he says as he walks fully in and closes the door.
“Yea I was sleeping before you decided to enter my room”.
“So I guess I will wait for you to actually read it”. He walks over to my bed and sits down but then he just lies back as if my reading was going to take so long that he might as well sleep.
I smile as he seems to relax like he was in his own bed, his amethyst eyes disappearing under his eyelids. His wavy chestnut hair a little past his ear as it falls down on the bed. I head over to my wooden chair and work on the task at hand.
My computer is top quality. The motherboard base is the size of a shoebox which lies below the monitor. The base has ridges on the top so you may be able to attach the monitor to the base. The monitor fits the base exactly and is a millimeter thick. It is set up where you can push the monitor forward and have it so it is lying flat on the base and it looks like a CD player, and if you were to push it back a holographic picture will appear. These features are a necessity in the case we must leave in a rush or so no one may know it is actually a computer.
I go through the usual routine that I do every time a new mission is known. And I find the icon with the number six on it and click it. What appears is a note that must be read ASAP.
Mission: infiltrate base in Netherlands. They seem to be requiting students from Thresta College. Good luck
Shadow
“Well” I say while I turn around to see Dami still lying down on my bed, “It seems there are only really two logical ways to go through this mission and for it to actually work.
Dami opens his eyes reluctantly, gets up from the bed and says “I think the safest way would be to pretend to be a student at the college.”
“I wouldn’t really say it’s the safest way because there is always a possibility of getting caught but it is the more brilliant then hacking into the computer and destroying the base” I reply.
“Because then we would lose information about a way to win the war that we would then lose, and we wouldn’t have enough time before they find us and set the alarm off” he adds
“Right, so do you want to add us to the schools computers with our new identities Dami?”
Dami stand up and walks over to where I am sitting. He smiles as he says “You know you really don’t have to call me by my codename when we aren’t on a mission.”
“I know that, however I like it better that way” I counter. It’s better if I call you by your code name. Then I won’t have to remember who you really are.” Now are you going to register us in the college database or shall I?”
“You’re in the chair or have you forgotten that you are sitting in front of the computer?” he says with his usual smirk.
I sigh in defeat as I get up from my chair and leave him to his work. “I’ll get my weapons together and I will be in the training room if you need me” I head over to the drawer on the closest side of my bed and grab four throwing stars to work on my aim better. I head out the door but am stopped by Dami saying something.
“Were in luck, the campus allows co-ed dorms for transfer students”
Great, now ill have to sleep in the same room as him.
