Life, the only thing that separates humans from us vampires. Humans, who have a beating heart, while us vampires could only listen. We live on the blood of the living. Those who know what we are die in an instant. They fear us, yet they want to become us. It makes no sense. If you fear us they why do you want to become us?
Everything changed when I was told we were moving to Williamsburg, Virginia. I’ve been wondering why we’re moving any way. Blake and Chris only told me that it was because of Luxus, A vampire hunter trying to hunt us, found out where we were hiding. So we have to leave as soon as possible.
It was dawn, and we were just outside of Philadelphia. I rolled down the window and stuck my head out. I felt the wind blow swiftly against my face as if it was blowing away all of my troubles and worries. I turned my head to look towards the direction we were leaving. I couldn’t see much, but I could still tell it was Philadelphia. I sighed and stuck my head back into the car and rolled up the window. I looked out side to the trees-because that’s the only thing that was around to see- pass by. It was like they were moving and not the car, but I knew that was just my imagination.
I couldn’t help but wonder what Williamsburg would be like. I knew other members of our family lived there during the American Revolution, They lived in this manor, but they all got killed by Luxus. So no one lives there any more. I couldn’t help but wonder weather or not the old Sena manor would still be there. If it is, then it must either be run down-from the Revolution-, or if some one else lives there. I looked towards my right and saw Chris, who was listening to his music. Next to him was Lorel, who was just looking out side the window like I was, taking a break from reading. Matt, who was sitting in front of me in the passenger’s seat, was reading a book. Last but not least, Blake the eldest in the family. He was driving. I sighed and looked back out side at the passing trees.
“Blake” I called him as I looked up to see if he was actually listening. He looked into the rearview mirror, to show me that I have his attention. “do you have a plan yet?” Blake just looked at me strangely.
“What do you mean by a plan?” Blake asked back.
“I mean…have you figured out where we’re going to live yet?”
“I haven’t the idea.” He stated calmly. I looked at him shocked.
“ARE YOU CRAZY?” I exclaimed. Blake was about to answer until I cut him off. “Don’t answer that!.”
“I was actually thinking of living in the old Sena manor.” Blake suggested.
“But what if it’s not there? Or if some one else is living in it? Or what if it’s rundown? You may never know!” I couldn’t believe what I was hearing.
“Then we’ll just wait and see when we get there okay? Good end of discussion.”
Blake told me. I just nodded. I looked out side, watching the trees pass by once again. I couldn’t help but think about the Sena family-even though I don’t know much about it, nor much about the vampire ways-, but I was thinking about how I became one.
To become an vampire, you’ll need to be bitten, DUH! The most common thing most people know about us. But the vampire who bit you belongs to a certain family. And once your bitten…then you belong in that family as well. Most vampires are bitten against their will, for many reasons because either the vampire wanted blood to drink, or because the human was in danger of dieing. Those are the most common cases. I sighed and continued to look out side. I felt Chris’ icy cold fingers poke me in the side, and in reflex I shoved him into Lorel, who got shoved into the car door.
“IRY!” Lorel yelled. Lorel is my ‘younger sister’. Well she appears to be any way. But for our vampire years, she’s at least a hundred or two older then I.
It’s been about an hour since we’ve left Philadelphia. I was listening to music with Chris and reading the same book Matt was reading-since he finished it about thirty minutes ago-. Another two hours passed by and I’ve already finished the book-yes I’m a very slow reader-, and we’ve finally arrived in Williamsburg. We stopped at a red light and I noticed the high school a large brick building with ‘Jamestown High School’ in large golden letters above the door. It was about ten a.m. and students were out and about because of lunch, and I noticed a boy. A boy with dark hair, almost black if not already black, he had pale skin, really pale, and that’s all I could really tell of the guy.
The car drove off once the red light turned green. We drove about thirty minutes and we finally came to a stop. Blake shut off the engine and opened his door-taking his seat belt off in the process-. The rest of us followed suit.
“See Iry they old Sena manor’s still there. It looks just like it did when it was built.” Blake stated.(Blake was in Virginia during the American Revolution.) The manor was a large colonial style house-like most houses in Williamsburg-. I helped Chris and Blake grabbed the bags from the trunk, and walked towards the house. Lore and Matt already opened the door and ran to get their things, or what’s left of the luggage.

I walked down the hallways, upstairs, and searched for a room that appealed to me. But so far there’s been no luck. I passed a room that has been opened by Lorel and Matt. I looked inside and saw the red silk curtains draping over the large French doors leading to the balcony. The bed was the closes to the door; the bed had a dark blue blanket, a midnight blue. The desk was against the wall to my right. I laid my bags on the floor near the large wooden wardrobe near the French doors. I sighed in enjoyment of my new room and walked out. I ran down the stairs and helped Chris with a couple of boxes. I set the box down in the living room by the window. I looked out side only to have the sun rays flood into the room. I squinted and turned away. I opened the box and pulled out this strange little clock. I walked over to the book shelf and set the clock down.
I looked at the time and sighed. We’ve been in Williamsburg for only thirty minutes, and it was already boring. I hate Blake for moving to a town that has a population of one hundred.
“Iry what’s wrong?” Chris asked smugly. I turned and glared at him.
“Oh nothing but this stupid town” I mumbled.
“Oh why so mad?”
“…must I answer that question? Honestly why couldn’t we just move to New York or some big city like Philadelphia instead of a small town where it’s not hard to find us. You know it took a long time for Luxus to find us in Philly!” I explained to him.
“Chill Iry…you’ll get over it! Just you wait and see.” Chris stated. I just sighed and finished unpacking.
A few hours passed and I got bored. I walked over to the window to see the sun wasn’t as bright as it was before. I saw three kids walk down the dirt road. One of them was the boy from this morning.
“What are you looking at?” Chris asked as he walked passed me.
“Huh? Oh…nothing…just kids walking home that’s all…” I stated.
“Mhmm…right sure…just finish up unpacking will you” Chris ordered.
“Fine” I walked over to the box and grabbed the last thing. A book. I walked over to the book shelf and placed it next to another. I was finally finished. I walked into the kitchen to see the others talking.
“What’s going on?” I asked them.
“nothing…just. You k now those kids from outside?” Chris asked. I nodded. “Yeah well…they’re the Conwell’s.” Ah yes I remember now. Conwell’s and Sena’s have been sworn enemies since the beginning of time.
“Oh…” that’s all I could really say. I couldn’t say anything else; there was nothing else to say. Well I guess I can rule out having friends of my list of things to do in this town. I sighed and walked out of the kitchen. I walked up the stairs and down the hall way. I walked into my light blue colored room and looked through my bag-which was laying on my bed.- I grabbed the book “Shattered Mirror” A vampire book a mortal wrote. It’s quiet fascinating actually…reading on what mortals really think about our kind.
Hours have passed and I finally finished the book. I had nothing else to read. Nothing. Well I do but Matt has them at this moment. I walked over to the French doors and pulled the curtains apart. It was dark out side, the moon was shining and the stars were twinkling. The city lights were dim, you could barley tell they were even on, but then again Williamsburg isn’t Philadelphia. It was almost like back home in Italy-where I grew up before I was a vampire-. I turned shut the curtains and turned around to walk to my bed. I sighed once my back hit the mattress. This is going to be a long night.
