The Beginning

Still on my knees, but I’m left behind.
I am the ruiner.
I watch the planets as they re-align.
I am the destroyer.
I got my moxie within my breath.
I am the defacer.
My own reflection I have laid to rest.
And this is only the beginning.

I thought I’d climbed so high
up on this silver spiral.
I twirl my fingers for the spark,
trying to burn down the dark.

Waited my turn, but I’m last in line.
I am the ruiner.
I turn and toss to find the end that’s mine.
I am the destroyer.
I hurt the ones that have hurt themselves.
I am the defacer.
May be too late as far as I can tell.
This is only beginning.

I’m standing up so tall
on all the backs I’ve broken.
There is no consequence,
but this is the beginning of the end.

I think I always knew
the limitless potential.
No sense in begging you,
this is the beginning of the end.
