Dark corners at a loud party,

That's where you'll find me

with a drink in my hand, gazing

at the partying crowds, crowded corner

bubbling with its own excitement--

the girl with her head on my shoulder

giggles as other girls pass by, wasting

their nights dancing and flirting--my girl knows

who she wants to be with tonight.

Dark corners at a loud party,

sitting and kissing and drinking with me,

that's where you'll find her,

watching my low-toned conversations

with other low-key guys with drinks--

maybe a few guns locked in glove boxes

or trunks come up, flippantly, just maybe,

but our smiles disarm and camaraderie

sings over wet, foamy cup rims...

some fondle girls between conversations,

some chase the girls on the dance floors--

and often come back with one in tow--

Dark corners at loud parties,

That's where you'll find all of us, at least

until the pretty girl sitting on my lap,

kissing me, gets bored of sitting, of talking,

and she and I disappear, we all disappear

until dawn, between clean sheets mussed,

that's where you'll find me, but don't talk--

wait for me tomorrow night, in a dark corner

at that loud party, and I'm sure you'll find me

sitting with you, one of these nights.
