Anything Over Nothing

Too many times have I almost hurt you

In hurting me

I forget how it would affect

You forever

Instead of just how it hurts

Me then

But you remind me of how it would feel

If anything happened

How I would feel if the same anything

Ever happened to you

So I say this for you

And then again for me

But as long as you’re here

Or somewhere near

I’ll keep my promise

Never will I hurt you

In hurting myself

And in this

Out of not wanting to hurt you

Nothing is what you want

And noting is exactly what will happen

Anything will be stopped

And nothing will be allowed to pass

Because you’re holding

My life in your hands

Able to close out the troubles

Of anything

And able to open to the comfort

Of nothing
