Dancing Love

(By Saphira Ruakara)

Hear it when it calls your name,

Far from across the plain,

And answer its feeble call,

Hears its words, none but all.

Move your feet within the time,

Give a call as strong as mine,

Flip, twirl, twist and spin,

In this night, you’ll never win.

Beat the drum with strikes of war,

Dance until your feet are sore,

Play the flute of your soul,

Tis the night you’ll be whole.

Take the chance to take my hand,

Pull me through surf and sand,

Show me life within your mind,

Let me search and let me find.

Through the dance, I see your past,

You try to escape, but in such haste,

You push me hard to hurt me so,

You hate yourself; this I know.

I pull you back to take my hand,

Nothing you’d ever demand,

Of which art, its your heart,

It’s the night I want to start.

I help you dance to the beat,

Turn, move, shuffle your feet,

Entwine your hand into my own,

I never want to be alone.

Fill me up with your love,

Help me fly like a dove,

High above the starry sky,

Something to live forever by.
