A Time For Change

You never wanted me
You have not ever cared
You only wanted what I could be
So my triumphs could be shared

When you see my flaws
That you think you have corrected
You get angry ‘cause you’ve never learned
Attributes can’t be selected

I work passed the exhaustion
Just to please you
But you always just sigh
And tell me I have more to do

Every week of my life
Is the same routine
Of following your rules
And keep doing what I’ve been

I have noticed in my life
I am not living at all
And it’s because of you
That I want something more

I think it’s time for change
A chance to be my own
So now I’m speaking for myself
I’m asking to be left alone.
