Is it the strength to defeat a thousand foes, the power to kill with a single blow?

Is it the gentleness with which he caresses his beloved wife, the care with which he holds his newborn son?

Is it the roar in his throat as he shouts a challenge, the deep resonating that broadcasts his power?
What makes a man, a man?
Is it the calm voice he uses with erring young ones, the firm but gentle tone saved for the small and weak?
What makes a man, a man?
Is it the ferocity he summons when defending his claim, the might that can protect those he loves?
What makes a man, a man?
Is it the love with which he mends the broken, the chivalry to make right the wrongs?
What makes a man, a man?
Is it the storm of his anger that sends one scurrying, the rage that scares all into submission?

Is it the warm embrace where one feels utterly safe, the silent promise to protect one from all evil?

Is this a question with no solution, or is the answer everything?
