Words that should never be spoken

Utter from neurotic chambers

Speaking nonsense like truth

When truth is unknown

Emotion stirred intention

Pretending to wake up others

That can’t handle the nightmare

Suffering the remorse of next day jitters

Mortified at the audacity of loose tongue

Spoken from young eyes

Naïve with thought

Twisting visions of old stories

To calm nerves unsettled

To see how many agree

It cannot be true

Not knowing what is

Revelling in the glow of discovered disinformation

Even though we are still blind

Convincing ourselves we can see in darkness

Somehow comforts the disquiet

That binds us together
