On The Road

The leather seat burns my skin

Riding in a red-hot tin

Rubber wheels rumbling low

Rolling along the asphalt road

-

I spy with my little eye

Rolling hills and endless sky

T-shirt clings, sticky with sweat

How much longer? Are we there yet?

-

Town houses line the streets

Backyards, old cars, clotheslines, white sheets

TV antennas like Eiffel Towers

This trip could go on and on for hours

AN: Ever driven somewhere far far away in the midst of summer?
