NEON the legend of her
Chapter 2
I watch the maiden running her still soaked clothing glittering in the light, thinking as if in a daze about what this girl might attempt to do. Doesn't she realize the danger of the street I think to myself admiring her graceful movements. I bring myself from my thoughts as she jumps the tall cements guard rail and enters her death. Despite my wish to just walk away I begin jogging towards the road hoping she not really so stupid as to try and cross the busy freeway. I hear the screeching of tires loud honking of vehicles and I pick up speed.
"Crap" I yell "I'm not running fast enough by now shes probably road kill." I hear more screeching of tires fallowed by a loud crash glass shatters and metal bends out of shape. Reaching the rail I jump over to find her pressed agents the wall avoiding the danger. Her eyes are glued to the seen of a tangle mess of crushed metal and yelling people as they observe the damage. Shes breathing heavily and I see she is shaking wildly. I let out a sigh of relief seeing she is ok.
"We better get outa here." I call over to her she looks at me her eyes are deathening. I pull myself from her gaze climbing back over the rough guard rail. I stand there for a few minuets waiting for her to fallow, finally giving in and looking over at her on the other side. She hasn't moved.
"Hey give me your hand, Ill pull you back over" I call to her. She looks up at me with those same red eyes and cautiously gives me her hand and I pull her to safety. She is still shaking and I'm not sure what to do .. Tracy would kill me if I brought her home.
"You got a place to stay?" I ask looking at her she isn't looking at me thank god rather staring at the sand by her naked feet.
"A place - to stay" She speaks in a daze, her voice seems troubled. I look back out to the sea, realizing that she seemed to appear out of know where. I look back at her shes looking at me, her look isn't so deathening now more confused than anything.
"Come along with me." I reply hesitantly, I can hear Tracy's word - Are you cheating on me, whats this who is she - I chuckle to my self waiting for the girls response. She shakes her head
"No, they will come, they wont care who's in the way they will come." She mumbles bearing her face in her small pail hands.
"Hey its alright, Just come on alright." I say pulling one of her hands away and dragging her along with me. Once it gets dark this area is not safe, not even for me. As we walk I begin to wonder if shes some escapee from a mental facility, She seems crazy enough to be.
"My name is Jake, whats yours?" I ask abruptly interrupting even my own thoughts
"... a - name? - I-I..." She shuddered
"Do you have one?" I ask and look at her questionably for a second then returning my eyes to the beach in front of me.
"At that place, they called me ex #1952" she spoke softly. I stopped walking on hearing her response.
"Ex, does that stand for experiment?" I studdard and chuckled nervously as thoughts of who and what she is cross my mind. She nodded. Clearing my throat I try and wipe my head of it, I'm not sure how to respond to that. Its not possible shes a mental patient I say repeatively to myself.
"Ah I don't suppose you have any ID on you or anything.?" I ask half knowing her response. I watch as she reaches into a discrete pocked on the side of her dress. She fumbles with it for a wile before sticking a finger through a small hole on the bottom of the pocket.
"Ops" She says nonchalantly I let out long sigh. You have got to be kidding me I think and begin walking again I hear her fallow closely. After a few minuets of deep though I break our silence.
"From here on out your name is" I sigh and look over at her "Angel!"
"Angel" She looks up at me. The redness in her yes has faded to a calmer dull red tone. "Angel" She repeats again as if finding some enjoyment with the stupid name.
