Vampire at the Café: Chapter Eight: A New Beginning
“Lily, my dear Lily, the only way for you to live is for me to make you into a vampire. Sigh, I understand if you do not want to do this. Lily, I love you so much. You can’t even beging to understand how much I love you. What I would sacrifice. But, if you chose not to become immortal. I understand……sigh” David sobbed.
Slowly Lily reached up to comfort him. “Silly boy” she said “Do you think that I do not love you? You are my soul. My life, my love. I need you as much as you need me. I am afraid of being immortal. But, I know I will have you there by my side and with you at my side what is there to be afraid of?”
Scarlett tears trickled down David’s face and Lily brushed them away. “For you, David, and for our love I will become what you are. We will become one.” Murmed Lily.
“You’re sure?? You can’t go back on it once the choice has been done.” Said David seriously.
“I’m sure” Lily said while kissing David’s lips.
“Alright then Lily. This will hurt. I’ve never done this before but I know it will hurt…I’ll try and spare you the pain. You’re still sure?” question David
“Yes, I don’t care about the pain as long as I get to be with you.” Replied Lily and she kissed David again.
David sighed and he whispered “Lily, here we go.” Then he lowered himself down and bit her in the neck. Lily’s eyes turned white from the pain and she moaned. David tasted her blood for the first time. What a rich tapestry it was. It was like ambrosia from the gods. Her blood was a sign that good things still existed in the world. Lily was proof of that good.
The time was coming now; most of Lily’s blood was inside David. He made a cut along his own wrist. Scarlett blood seeped out.
“Lily, you must drink this. Drink it and come back to me. We’ll be together forever and ever.” Implored David.
Painfully and slowly Lily sat up. She started kissing David’s wrist where he had cut himself. Then she started drinking from it. David could see the color and life-force come back into her face. She was no longer going to die. David had saved her.
When Lily had drunk enough she let go of David’s wrist. His wound healed it’s self quickly. Soon there was no sign that a wound had been there. “Am I a vampire now?” questioned Lily?
“No, not yet…you’ll get to have one last day.” Said David. “Now I must go for the night but don’t feel bad for me. The rest of my nights wil be spent with you.” Stated David
He walked Lily back to his house and kissed her for the day. Lily spent that entire day walking admist the wildflowers and playing in the sea. She spent every minute enjoying the sunlight. All to soon the sun set. It was the last sunset of Lily’s mortal life.
That night as the moon rose Lily saw David walking to her. He kissed her and said “Welcome to the night.” Lily knew that she had found her new sun. He would burn brightly in her life forever.
