A hazy mist obscures the day

in its damp blanket,

fogging all the windows,

chilling all the bones.

A hazy mist drags on today,

coating the world in tiny

droplets, frozen water, odd

in springtime—a thrilling chill

fills the world with dead dread,

horrifying imaginations

into troublesome visions...irresistible,

the hazy mist hangs in hearts,

miserable from want of sun,

but! It doesn't ever come,

not today, though tomorrow the sun

promises a glimmer, if only!

So, for today, only gloom,

and the hazy mist leads

us to our bridges, and tells us

to cross, but along the dreary way

it shows us the rail—whispers silently

'the sun only shines over the rail.'
