Long Gone

Silent regard;

Respect for the dead.

Having lived too long;

Supposedly long gone.

Whispers in the dark;

Voices of my victims.

Never to leave this place;

Thought to be long gone.

Wrong solemnity;

Amongst the bodies.

Having thought incorrectly;

My mind’s long gone.

Trembling hands;

Cold steel against me.

A split second;

You won’t find me here;

Rather you’ll find my body;

I’m long gone.
