And there could be daylight, clouds,
green tunnels and mustard ragweed,
floating and failing
in a semi-vortex around the vehicle,

unworldly,
and in the air, stray guardrails could collide
with the fenders,
mingle with the crumbling bumpers.

I've heard
there could be a car wreck,
across a hill-top town,

and from it
pools of oil may flow,
slowly, creeping toward the curb and
clogging the steel drainpipes.
