Disoriented Snowmen

Flailing down from heaven
In this blizzard their gizzards fly.
Howling and thrashing about
Thrown violently from the sky.

Wide open traps for a melting victim
Evaporate on to a steaming tongue.
Rolled into art by children who love them.
Happily admired by ones so young.

A soggy old scarf and lumpy shaped snow
It’s a frozen traditional masterpiece.
Running inside, try to escape the cold.
The cocoa kids love their creation obese.

Melting, dripping, sweating
No more than a fair-weathered friend.
Teardrops of defeat from the sculptors
Freezer bagged till new snow descends.
