I am simple

on Saturday mornings
a blank mind like blank paper
the ink of nature filling me out

silence mixing with my coffee
and cookies for breakfast,

a sun with my thousand words
sinking between the ridges
where my fingers hold the world

between re-learning me
and throwing ambition
in the bin, today I think about

getting to ten in the night
without folding into myself.

today, I want to learn everything
like a six-year old again

before I slip
and do a double take and become
complicated again.
