He comes and stands behind me,

so silently that I don’t notice at first.

But his presence is reassuring,

and I look into his eyes and smile.

-

My heart melts in the intense passion

of a radiant sun called love.

And joy lights up my eyes like stars in

the midnight sky above.

-

The quiet, but strong care that I see

in the depths of his eyes startles me.

It’s so different from the mocking,

dismissive looks he gives me nowadays.

-

I wish I could have captured the moment

in a photograph, to treasure and value.

For I am unsure if I will get to see that look

Ever again for the rest of my lifetime.

-

Every phone call, every letter,

Every glance, every touch,

Every spoken word, every smile,

Every single moment.

-

I cherish it all.
