The nightmare unravels my dream-catcher life,
The nightmare unravels my dream-catcher life,
A mask of black sinew coiled in angst
Burrowed below the depths of this strife
Lies a green-blooded boy infected by hate:

Through red tinted pupils he perceives this hell
As a broken winged bird in sweaty palms
In its’ beady eyes he seems to dwell,
Mystified by its death, twisting off its’ head

But blood will flow thicker than water
Even in the dirtiest swamp
And no matter the term for manslaughter,
Its effects will continue to haunt

A toast to the man, who was once the young boy
A curse on the creature who is the man
Who sold his own blood as a decoy
From his own self, who betrayed himself foremost

Through sun catcher eyes, the young boy gleams behind,
Still collecting birds in his grown up hands
He crushes their wings, keeps them confined
Behind bars in his mind; birds become human

But blood will flow thicker than water
Even in the dirtiest swamp
And no matter the term for manslaughter,
Its effects will continue to haunt

So water down the taste of blood
With feathers and flesh so white
Savor the taste of your mud;
Consider it an afternoon delight
