Take time from me and leave me breathing

Take time from me and leave me breathing

a body without a mind

it’s left me for my soul

don’t care to retrieve them

they are on a beach somewhere

in loving arms

I’m left to remain in this world

stagnant

waiting for the next one to swallow me up

when I come back I hope you’re not there

never there

to greet me

take my mind from me and don’t leave memories

I don’t need memories

splendid little sunrays like Sundays

they’re easily ignored

keep them like the Sabbath

while I remain wholly

indifferent

a simpleton

overwhelmed by simple things

take my sympathy

and run with it

I never want it back

take my head and my eyes and my lines

take my ears and their symphony

my feet know what to do

simply

I’ll take what I’m left with

and jump.
