An azure sky sits endlessly

Marred with gray

As dark as soot

Choking out the soul

Reflecting how they felt

If they could feel

At all; simply shells

A ghost town

Discernible by a terrible

Spire, piercing through clouds

Right into the heart of God

As he watches his creation

Fall to ruins

Hope is a lonely man

Walking opposite the crowd

No one will speak to him

None will invite him in

He is simply a shadow

Roaming the streets

And it is only a matter of time

Before he’ll fade into the gray

Of all that’s been lost

The house windows are lit

But no one will answer

And if they ignore him

Hope will disappear
